Juan de Fuca Soccer Association Dick Darley and Eunice Johnson Scholarship

To be eligible for consideration of this $500 scholarship, the candidate must:
    a) Be a grade 12 student
    b) Have played a minimum of three years in the Juan de Fuca Soccer Association
    c) Be dedicated and have contributed to the Juan de Fuca Soccer Association

Sooke Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association (SPVPA) Bursary (Open to Children of SPVPA) 
This bursary available to any high school graduate whose parent or grandparent is a current member of the SPVPA. Completed applications 
 must be received, via email, to
[email protected] by 4:00 PM Thursday, May 2nd, 2024.

Sooke Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association (SPVPA) LEGACY Scholarship (for all graduating students)
This $500 scholarship is open to all students of School District #62. One  scholarship will be awarded to one student graduating from each of our district secondary schools. In addition, one $500 scholarship will be awarded to recognize the most eligible applicant of Aboriginal descent within the district. Completed applications All SPVPA Scholarship Applications must be received, via email, to [email protected] by 4:00 PM Thursday, May 2nd, 2024.

​Beacon Community Services Scholarship
This $1500 scholarship is open to graduating students who demonstrate exemplary volunteerism or community service. At least some of a candidate’s leadership or volunteer/community service must be identified as having been done within an area covered by Beacon’s geographic boundaries.

​Sooke Fire Fighters Scholarship
Students attending Belmont who live in the Sooke municipal boundaries are eligible to apply for the Sooke Fire Fighters Scholarship.  Applicants must: live within the municipal boundaries of Sooke, be graduating in June of 2023, and be heading to full-time post-secondary in September 2023. Applications can be dropped off at the Sooke Fire Hall: Sooke Fire Fighters – IAFF 4841 ATTN: Scholarship Committee 2225 Otter Point Rd. Sooke, BC V9Z 1J2 or emailed to: [email protected]

myBlueprint Scholarships  
The scholarships are:
  • Financial Wellness Scholarship by Scotiabank
  • STEM Scholarship by Scotiabank
  • Diversity by Scotiabank
  • Future Women Leaders by Scotiabank
From that group of applicants myBlueprint will randomly select 40 students from each region for each of the 4 scholarships and invite them to complete Phase 2.

Mott Electric Women in Electrical Training Fund 
The Mott Electric GP Women in Trades Training Fund is designed to support women entering into or continuing education in the electrical trades. Bursaries may be used for tuition fees or textbooks.

Metchosin Foundation Beecher Bay Scholarship for Community Service, Academic Achievement, and Environmental Stewardship

Metchosin Foundation Scholarship for Academic Achievement
This scholarship will be awarded to a qualified Canadian applicant who resides in Metchosin and displays high academic achievement. Evaluations of academic performance will be weighted by the difficulty of program and course choices.

Metchosin Foundation Scholarship for Community Citizenship
This scholarship will be awarded to a qualified Canadian applicant who resides in Metchosin demonstrating significant involvement/leadership in activities important to social health and community support. Relevant activities might include work with school or other bodies of governance, involvement in social justice issues, senior care, child care, and community service work with organizations such as food banks, hospitals, churches, charities, libraries, animal welfare organizations, children’s camps and clubs, etc.  Applications must be submitted this application and

Metchosin Foundation Scholarship for Environmental Stewardship
This scholarship will be awarded to a qualified Canadian applicant who resides in Metchosin demonstrating concern for environmental issues. Volunteer work on environmental projects and relevant classroom projects will be a principle consideration. Projects might include work on recycling, ecosystem restoration, wild animal care, pollution reduction and remediation, renewable energy sources, etc.

Junior Achievement BC Awards
Several scholarships are available to students who have taken business classes and/or participated in Junior Achievement activities:
Dr. Donald Rix Inspiring Business Excellence Scholarship ($2500)
Applicants must be either Indigenous, an immigrant OR rural.  Participation in high school business courses is required.

Judy Bourne Memorial Scholarship   
12 scholarships are available for students of Indigenous ancestry living within specified regions. Applicants must have proof of enrollment in a full-time program at a post-secondary institution, be in good scholastic standing for their Grade 11 and 12 years, and demonstrate community involvement and leadership abilities.  Applications can be emailed to [email protected]

Jim Hebden Chemistry Bursary
This $1000 bursary is usually awarded to someone who can demonstrate a formidable financial need. This effectively eliminates students with very high GPAs as they will almost certainly receive scholarships.  
Selection criteria: 
1)  has performed service for his/her school or community
2)  demonstrated a proficiency in Chemistry
3)  can show significant financial need
4)  must have Chem 12 completed by the end of June of graduating year
5)  planning to continue the study of chemistry as part of his/her post-secondary program e.g. a chemistry degree OR a  degree in a field involving chemistry e.g. nursing, engineering...

C.U.P.E. Local 459 BURSARY 
At least two bursaries (of a minimum of $500.00 each) are offered annually to graduates who are dependents of C.U.P.E. 459 employees) and are planning to attend a post-secondary institution or a career training/apprenticeship program.      Please submit electronically by email to [email protected] by May 15th.

Sooke Fine Arts Show Scholarships
The Sooke Fine Arts Society offers up to two annual scholarships of $750 awarded to students graduating from EMCS, Royal Bay, WestShore, or Belmont, to provide financial support to students entering a post-secondary program which includes a visual arts component.  All criteria needs to be read carefully to make sure all components are met.

Pacific Leadership Scholarship for Students of Public Servants
Every year there are 60 scholarships available for students who are children of public servants and under the age of 25.  Qualified students with a parent who has been an employee of the BC Public Service for the last three years may apply.

The Medavie Health Foundation Scholarship
This  scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded annually to a youth who has overcome adversity related to mental health and is pursuing health-related post-secondary studies.

The Union of National Employees
The Union of National Employees offers a yearly $1000 bursary to one BC high school student. Applicants must complete the application form and submit a 1200 to 1500-word essay detailing how the union movement has "helped to build the social values that Canadians hold dear".

Rotary Club of Victoria Harbourside
For 2022, the following seven Scholarships are available:


  • Three (3) Rotary Club of Harbourside Victoria Scholarships ($1,500 each)
  • One (1) Scholarship giving preference to an Indigenous Student ($1,500)
  • Three (3) Charter Member Scholarships ($2,000 each)
    • One (1) scholarship awarded to a student who has a hearing or speech impairment or will be pursuing a career in speech pathology or audiology, in the name of Marke Hambley.
    • One (1) scholarship awarded to a student who has been involved in the military community or who has a member of their family who has served or is serving in the military, in the name of Tom Martin.
    • One (1) scholarship awarded to a student who has shown a deep involvement in athletics or will be pursuing a career related to athletics, in the name of Mike Creery.
Scholarships will be given to graduating students from School Districts 61, 62, and 63.

Bernice Harriet Osborne Memorial Basketball Scholarship
Applicants must have participated in the Victoria & District Amateur Basketball Association (preference given to those who have participated for a longer period of time), and set a good example in life, school, athletics for his/her community. Financial need will be considered.

This $1000 scholarship provides financial support to members of Scouts Canada entering or continuing in full-time studies at Canadian universities or colleges. All recipients are motivated youth who, with the help of their Scouting experiences have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and a desire to create a better world.

​Janice Lee Blue Wave Bursary
This $750 bursary is open to students who live with (have lived with) depression in order to “invest in the resilience, wisdom and potential of young people and to reduce some of the barriers during the major transition from high school to higher education”.
